Porsche 991 Carrera BMC F1 Replacement Air Filters (2012-2016)

Starting with its outer frame, BMC uses a special soft rubber material made in a process called "full molding", which not only provides a much tighter seal around the filter, but also eliminates any potential cracking or breaking of the filter. The filter element itself is made of a washable cotton material that provides nearly 40% greater airflow than paper, enclosed in an alloy mesh screen which helps the filter keep its shape and protects against larger debris and dirt. The increased flow of air through the filter provides a steady stream of clean air to the engine, resulting in much more consistent and efficient power.

The filters dropped right in to replace the stock units, and appear to have quite a bit more surface area. These are more sparsely pleated than the stock paper filters, but with a dense fabric batting on the interior. The intake sounded a bit deeper, and throttle response was more crisp after their installation, which also included a plenum from IPD. Of course, the plenum may be responsible for some of that. Am quite pleased with the results.

Looked at cold air intake options and after research found that the Porsche OEM intake is as good or better than aftermarket options. All that is needed is a good filter, which is satisfied by the BMC filter set. Happy with the results.
